New line of distribution amplifiers from Extron Electronics

Extron Electronics is the well-known company by its equipment of routing and distribution of video and audio signals. Recently it has presented a new distribution amplifiers line. This line includes units and devices for distribution and amplification of various types of signals, from composite video and to digital DVI signals.

Special interest provokes new family of distribution amplifiers of DA AV EQ series. This series includes routing centres on 3, 6, 8 and 12 outputs intended for operation with composite and S-Video video signals, and also with symmetric and asymmetrical audio signals. Their main feature consists in that for each pair of video outputs on front panels of devices the groove adjustments of amplification (Gain) in range ±6 dB and inclination of amplitude-frequency characteristic (EQ) within the range 0…+6 dB are derived. It allows adjusting more precisely the signal level and picturing resolution depending on cable length.

The operating 150 MHz bandwidth of video signal is quite sufficient for qualitative translation and signal distribution to users. In the table the modelling line of this series is presented.

Besides distribution amplifiers of DA AV EQ series the Extron Electronics company recently has also presented one more series of units for operation with the following signals: VGA-QXGA, RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB, RsGsBs, component, S-Video, composite. This series includes three units:

• P/2 DA2xi on 2 outputs with bandwidth exceeding 350 MHz (-3 dB);
• P/2 DA4xi on 4 outputs with bandwidth exceeding 300 MHz (-3 dB);
• P/2 DA6xi on 6 outputs with bandwidth exceeding 300 MHz (-3 dB).

In these distribution amplifiers the 15-pin sockets HD of “jack” type are used. Due to wide bandwidth they are completely transparent for signals of the high resolution up to QXGA. Each output is individually buffered, that allows keeping the integrity of input signal and to eliminate noise.

On front side of distribution amplifiers of P/2 DA*xi series there is a switch of peak amplification of input signal “0 or +3 dB” for P/2 DA4xi and P/2 DA6xi and “0 or +6 dB” for P/2 DA2xi. Switch using allows to apply units of P/2 DA*xi series for long cable line.

The separate attention is necessary to turn into new distribution amplifier Extron D/2 DA4 DVI for DVI signal. It is intended for distribution of digital video signals DVI to 4 outputs. When standard cables of corresponding purpose are supplied the unit D/2 DA4 DVI can be used for signal distribution to the remote users on distances up to 4.6 m. In cases when it is necessary to transfer a signal to greater distances, Exron suggests to use the IN9700 cable. By means of this cable the DVI-signal can be transferred to distances up to 23 m. Manufacturing techniques of this cable guarantees throughput up to 1.6 Gbit/s.

New distribution amplifiers Extron Electronics can be successfully used for qualitative distribution of signal to video monitors, videoprojectors and other devices.
