Glidecam Company already pretty long and successfully is being producing camera stabilizing systems. Quite wide spread had obtained V series units and in particular V-8, V-16 and V-20 models.

First of them is designed for lightweight compact camcorders of miniDV and DVCAM formats made as handheld cameras (up to 4.5 rg).

It may be such camcorders as Canon XL-1 & XL-1S, Sony PD150/170 & VX2000, Panasonic AG-DVX100 & AG456, JVC GY-DV300U and similar. Despite of light weight of the equipment installed to stabilizer the last one has all necessary construction elements: spring arm, waist, post, bottom plate for fixing monitors, batteries and other devices used in operation.

V-16 is designed for heavier DVCAM, DVCPRO and similar camcorders. Payload for this model is 4.5…9 kg. Due to it the stabilizer’s construction is more massive.

V-20 model can handle the payload of 6.8…13,5 kg.

The most modern stabilizer of the company which was demonstrated at IBC2004 is Glidecam V-35.

The Glidecam V-35 professional body mounted stabilization system is a sophisticated new addition to the “V-Series” line of body mounted camera stabilizers and will support cameras weighing from 10 to 20 pounds (4.5 — 9 Kg). The dual articulating Support Arm of the V-35 allows both left and right handed operation. The Glidecam V35 Vest incorporates a Trim Adjuster that allows the Support Arm to tilt front to back and side to side, providing the operator with maximum comfort and support. The six lightweight Titanium Springs contained within the V-35 Support Arm offer enhanced strength and durability compared to conventional springs. The Glidecam V-35 Sled incorporates a no-tools Precision Gimbal, and is centrally wired with video and power for camera, monitor, and support accessories.
