Active sound monitors of the Fostex Company

More than 30 years the Fostex Company produces the various equipment for audio recording, processing and playback and is well-known in Russia, CIS countries and near foreign countries. Loudspeakers Fostex provide the transparent and natural sounding which is almost independent from acoustics of the room. The scope of these devices is extensive enough; they are widely applied in broadcasting, presentation systems and program-making. Fostex audio monitors have quite deserved reputation checked up by time. They are actively used in large and small TV- and radio companies, on radio stations and in sound recording studios.

Fostex 6301B/BX monitors are small and with built-in 10W amplifier and broadband speaker with 10 cm diameter which are provided the high quality and purity of sound. Case of the monitor made of cast aluminum. Despite of small size, loudspeaker of the 6301 series have rather a wide set of opportunities such as follows: they can receive input signals of any level, their sensitivity is 84 dB/W/m (97 dB maximum) and operate in frequency range 80 Hz…13 kHz. The best results are achieved under using of these monitors in pair mode.

Fostex 6301B/BX monitors

Fostex PM monitor line: PM 0,5, PM 1, PM 2

Fostex PM series includes monitors of models of PM 0,5, PM 1, PM 2. Fostex PM 0,5 is good loudspeaker of near field for small sound recording studios. This compact active monitor is provided by amplifier by 70 W capacity. The model has high sensitivity and clean and transparent sounding. Model PM 0,5 is equipped with convex 20-mm speakers for playback of the high frequency sound, 130-mm LF-speakers and jack for automatic gain control.

Monitors Fostex PM 1 have high sensitivity, their acoustic feature levels do not concede to more expensive “colleagues”. The overall amplifier capacity received under the bi-amp circuit, is equal to 120 W. Loudspeakers Fostex PM 1 provide a high level of sound pressure and the maximal accuracy of playback in the bandwidth. PM 1 is equipped with dome-shaped 25-mm HFspeaker, 160-mm HF-woofer; the input signal level is adjusted.

The powerful shielded loudspeaker with modern design of Fostex PM 2 transfers all sounding of recorded material and well suit for use in the large rooms. Monitors PM 2 provide exact transmission in all sound range, even at high sound pressure, that it is important, for example, under recording of modern music with low frequency. The overall capacity of the amplifier received with the bi-amp circuit, is equal to 240 W. Fostex PM 2 provides with 200-mm woofer, 25-mm dome-shaped high-frequency speaker, three-position switch of low frequencies level (0dB/-3dB/+3dB), the separate automatic gain control of high frequency sound and the volume level control are provided.

The features of the PM series are the following:

• Material of LF-speaker with cone diffuser promotes the creation of dynamical, exact, transparent and live sound;
• Woofers are made from polyamide impregnated with resin that provides the construction durability and optimum sound efficiency;
• Thin film increasing service life and response frequency supervising is soldered to the speaker surface;
• Central dustproof cap is made of the high-quality cellulose impregnated with resin;
• Sound coil of copper wire provides a low level of distortion;
• High features of HF-speakers with the soft dome-shaped diaphragms, which are made according to the Fostex Poly Urethane Film Laminated Cloth technology;
• Each amplifier is precisely selected for their own speaker.
