Sound monitors ESI

First of all the ESI Company from Korea is known as the manufacturer of sound boards and audio interfaces, such as WaveTerminal and WamiRack. As logical on a background of fast development of this manufacturer is looked the expansion of interests of the company to development and production of the own studio oriented for the market of TV- and video industry, musical project-studios and budgetary installations.

ESI nEar05 monitors

The first step in this direction is the nEarO5 models, which are active monitors of a near field with separate amplification of the general capacity 75 W. These monitors have already found its popularity all over the world, including Russian market. Due to wide frequency range, the equal amplitude-frequency characteristic and reliability have been declared by the manufacturer, they can put in one line with such systems, as, for example, BX5 model of M-Audio.

Low-frequency 5.25" speaker of this model is executed as polypropylene cone, and high-frequency 1" driver is provided with natural silk coating, which softening action was already repeatedly mentioned in the various papers. Overall amplifiers capacity is 75 W (42 W for woofer and 33 W for twitter), that provides a high sound pressure at insignificant nonlinear distortions. Signal-to-noise ratio is not less than 100 dB.

The frequency range of nEarO5 is 60 Hz…20 kHz, however, as a rule, for TV industry it is quite enough. The monitor is provided with built-in Linkwitz-Riley crossover of the fourth order. A point of crossover separation is 2.7 kHz. Inputs of monitors are executed as symmetric (XLR) and symmetric/asymmetrical (TRS) connectors. The system is equipped with output limiter, and also with the protection from overheating and radio interference.

As a whole, because of their characteristics the nEarO5 models make rather good impression and at whole are quite directed for monitoring within TV and video production margins.
