Headphones and sets from Beyerdynamic

Review contents:

Headphones and sets of production by German company Beyerdynamic for a long time and also are successfully applied in TV video production. So, for example, at translation of reports from Olympiad of 1996 in Seoul the sets DT 108 and DT 109 were widely used. These models are made on the basis of headphones DT 100 and differ from each other by one (DT 108) or two (DT 109) loudspeakers. The frequency range of loudspeakers is 30…20000 Hz, sensitivity 94 dB. The closed design of headphones provides high protection against penetration of external noise. The microphone is dynamic pencil-beam, with sensitivity about 2.5 mV and also well protected from external noise and transfers a voice clearly and legible. Models are produced in various versions: by black or white color, with connector XLR or without it, with headphones impedance 50 or 400 Ohm. Embouchures are replaceable.

DT 150 headphones: the base station DT 190 (left) and DT 250

The following model of the line — DT 190 — externally looks the same as DT 109, but is created on the basis of phones DT 150 and differs by better characteristics. Frequency of the headphones is in the range 5…30000 Hz, sensitivity is 97 dB; frequency of the microphone is in the range 40…12000 Hz, sensitivity is 3 mV and the noise compensation level is more than 30 dB. Color is only black, embouchures are replaceable also.

The following group of model set is based on popular model of close headphones DT 250 (10…30000 Hz, 100 dB, impedance is 80 or 250 Ohm). It is provided by excellent transmission of the MF/HF range due to speech in them sounds very clearly. The easy and convenient design allows to work with them during long time.

DT 770 PRO and DT 990 PRO headphones

During transmission of 2002 from the world football championship in Japan and Korea the DT 297 PV set, representing the above mentioned DT 250 phones with the capacitor directed microphone on the flexible holder, was widely used. This microphone is provided with high stability to feedback, the frequency is in the range 40…20000 Hz and sensitivity is 5.5 mV. It needs in 12…48 V supply, therefore it is provided at once with a XLR-connector for connection to a mixer.

DT 290 sets and its “monaural” version DT 280 are provided with a dynamic microphone on the flexible holder (frequency range is 40…12000 Hz and sensitivity is 3 mV).

In studio and broadcast operation the headphones are irreplaceable. Except for mentioned DT 100, DT 150 and DT 250 models, the Beyerdynamic Company is produced the more known DT 770 PRO and DT 990 PRO models, and also the DT 48 E model which is became the industrial standard in broadcast branch.
