Midiman Company was created in 1988 in California. In 1999 the separate audio division which production began to be made under M-Audio mark was created. Audio Studiophile BX-5

BX-5 is one of last models in popular Studiophile line. On responses of numerous users, the monitors of near field BX-5 with double gain provide qualitative sound playback, that together with the compact sizes and accessible cost makes them especially attractive for low-budget projects.

Designers underline carefully selected components applied in BX-5 as a pledge of professional sounding and realistic audio playback. Due to special switches on a back wall of monitors (Acoustic Space Control and Mid-boost) the BX-5 radiation can be optimized within the margins of anyone, even very complex room, and also within the margins of vertical or horizontal installation of cases.

In reality the low-frequency 5.25" driver is mineralized cone on polypropylene base with the rubberized damper. Twitter 1" with ferromagnetic liquid cooling is made from natural silk and is protected by internal damper system. The silk coating provides to sound mitigation on high frequency, and, hence, reduces load on ears of audio engineer during prolonged operation.

Audio Studiophile BX-5

The frequency range of this model is 56 Hz…20 kHz. The built-in crossover (Linkwitz-Riley filter of the fourth order) is provided with the 3 kHz partition point. The model is equipped with two high-quality amplifiers by 38 W on the channel (for woofer and twitter). Under full volume the signal-to-noise ratio is 100 dB.

Inputs are made on symmetric (XLR) and symmetric/asymmetrical (TRS) connectors.

The column case is made from high-quality MDF with vinyl coating. Due to the advanced design and compactness this model provides the maximal flexibility of monitoring, allowing to complete the surround-installations. For denser sounding of low frequency range the BX-5 model may be completed with subwoofer Studiophile SP-8S.

BX-5 is the good acoustics, allowing to equip various kinds of monitoring within the margins of TV and video production of various formats. Activity of the equipment enables to have monitor path with optimally coordination onto electronic parameters. Symmetry/asymmetry on input determines universality of switching within the margins of professional audio path. DX4 is the most compact model from the presented monitors. Despite of the small size, these desktop loudspeakers are the certain quality standard for computer sound, combining the convenient user design, the optimized drivers and high technology of crossovers with optimum power.

DX4 is the double-band loudspeaker provided with low-frequency 4" driver with paper coating and high-frequency twitter — 1" Mylar cone. The high-frequency speaker is advanced with the help of the original technology OptImage supervising the wave dispersion and promoting to improved stereo perception. Double gain provides 18 W on each channel and dynamic range not less than 95 dB, sound pressure reaches 101.5 dB. A separation point of the crossover bands is 2.8 kHz.

Certainly, in promotional materials from the manufacturer it is written: “despite of the small dimensions, the DX4 is provided with the same qualities, as professional studio monitors of near field”. Specialists are understood, that miracle does not happen. On the other hand, precisely selected components of audio path of DX4 monitors give quality rather adequate to their price which, undoubtedly, will suit to many professionals of the TV industry. The compactness relied on operation in the size-limited room, is focused the user on this model application as individual monitor on local workplace of an audio engineer. Besides, DX4 may be applied as the mobile acoustic complete set, allowing a sound path at field conditions to build up.
