Abekas 6000 MultiFlex DTV digital playout server can output the digital streams in DVCPRO and MPEG-2 formats and it allows choosing compression type and bit rate of 25 or 50 Mbit/s providing at the same time high picture quality. A server can have 2, 4, 6, or 8 in/out channels of digital video signal each of which is accompanied by 4-channel digital audio. Also it supports I-Frame Only capture mode. Built-in server’s RAID-5 disk array allows storing about 100 hours of video and connecting a server to the external storage device the space can be increased in times. Disk space is fully redundant and changing of failed disks can be done in Hot Swap mode. Up to 32 servers can be networked to reach the total volume up to 3,000 hours of video.

Abekas 6000 MultiFlex server provides a possibility of simultaneous playback and recording of video and audio as well as play, revert, fast view and slow view modes with any speed and without recording interruption. For instance recording from four cameras can be performed to four server’s channels and the fifth and sixth channels can be used for simultaneous broadcasting of Slow Motion and Instant Replies of video from these cameras while seventh and eighth channels are used for play list creating or editing. And there is no necessity to wait till the digitizing video from camera is over.

An editing for tape to server is performed via control unit which looks like VTR control surface. Abekas 6000 MultiFlex server can be used as playout server for prepration, editing and broadcasting of news, sports programs and other events as well as advertising and music clips and also for time delay at broadcasting programs for different time zones.

“Clip” recording format realized in Abekas 6000 MultiFlex server simplifies the access to the material especially in manual mode and this sufficiently simplifies data exchange between devices linked by common network as each fragment has its own unique ID.
