Color TFT LCD Teleprompting Displays and Software from Telescript Telescript Limited is a UK manufacturer of the ultimate range of teleprompting products for use in Television, Film and Conference Presentations. Based in the county of Berkshire just a stone’s throw from Windsor Castle, the company designs and manufactures its products in a magnificent 16th Century barn. Our hardware design philosophy is to use the very latest in TFT LCD technology available today and incorporate these leading edge electronics into a teleprompter that is streamlined, lightweight and has the look and feel of a broadcast product that we all expect to glimpse in a Television studio in the 21st century. Our design team has been in the Broadcasting business for well over 40 years and strives to produce a range of prompting products for every type of production including News, Light Entertainment, Sport, Chat shows and Awards Ceremonies. This year has been a year of complete redesign of its prompting hardware products and we are very pleased to launch this outstanding range in The Magazine 625. Today’s cameras are getting smaller and smaller as are the pan and tilt heads on which the teleprompter is mounted, so our first challenge was to design a very lightweight portable prompter that can pack flat and fit into a briefcase, can be powered from batteries or mains power and yet be easy for the presenter to read.
Telescripts Model: TSP-8" Color TFT On camera prompter was our Answer to the challenge. Weighing in at a total weight of just 2 Kg this very lightweight portable prompter has a pack flat soft glass hood assembly for through the lens prompting. However an optional above the lens mount for direct reading or Virtual studio use is also available. To help reduce the overall weight of the prompter on the pan and tilt head we manufacture a unique Nylon camera mounting plate, thus reducing the weight of the plate to just 0.5kg. The TFT-LCD monitor itself weighs only 600 grams and can accept either composite video or an S-video signals. The brightness of the display is 350 cd with a contrast ratio of 150:1. An infrared remote control is included which is credit card size and controls the power switch, menu display and adjusts the image up or down. On camera prompters for Television and FilmThis extremely light weight range of color TFT-LCD on camera prompters is available in 33, 38 and 51 cm screen sizes and has a rigid glass hood assembly for through the lens prompting. The hood assembly is adjustable in both the vertical and horizontal direction and comes with a black cloth light shield. Mounting the units on the pan and tilt head is simple and is achieved by the use of an aluminium camera mounting plate. This plate incorporates two adjustable rods for counterbalancing the prompter on the pan and tilt head. When a small DV camera is being used we recommend the use of camera riser (Hi Hat). All three units accept either composite video or S-video signals and come with a an infrared remote control of all the controls via the menu screen, including the setting for either a mirror image or direct reading monitor. TSP Range of Conference PromptersThe TFT-LCD range of monitor displays used in our Television prompters are also used for our conference systems. These very streamlined but rugged color prompting displays are exceptionally bright, very lightweight and very portable and are available in 33, 38 and 51 cm screen sizes. The slim yet very sturdy black finished conference glass stand comes with a heavy cast iron base for stability and has non-slip rubber feet. The two stage conference stand has an adjustable glass holder to retain a sheet of conference glass which can be mounted either horizontally or vertically to suit the presenters. The height of the stand is fully adjustable with a minimum height to the bottom of the glass of 85 cm and the maximum height is 1.55 meters. The angle of the glass can also be manually adjusted by the speaker when required. Color TFT-LCD Direct Reading prompter
