Engenius Prompting is based in the UK and is the sales and marketing arm for Listec Video Corporation outside of the Americas. Our aim is to provide the very best in customer care and service this side of the Atlantic for Listec who have been manufacturing Teleprompters in the USA since 1985.

Our experience

Jim Lucas who Heads up Engenius Prompting has nearly forty years experience working in the prompting business, and coupled with his background in engineering, sales and marketing, he knows the prompting market inside out.

One obvious rule when purchasing your prompting software is to know that it works with Microsoft’s very latest operating system. Some manufacturers don’t seem to worry but we do and therefore we are compatible with Windows XP, 2000, 98, 95 and NT. Likewise we are Unicode compatible which means we support all the European languages.

The Hardware

For the broadcast market we supply the Ultimate choice in color TFT LCD high brightness flat display “on camera prompters”. Our Spectra-LITE models accept a composite video input whilst our VU-LITE displays not only accept a composite video signal but also inputs direct from a PC via a DB15 pin connector.

TFT LCD monitors are available in 15 cm, 23 cm, 28 cm, 30 cm, 33 cm, 38 cm, 46 cm and 51 cm screen sizes.

This new 13" (33cm) display on camera prompter is ideal for both field or studio use and is available with either a fold down mirror/hood assembly or a rigid hood for studio use.

Based on the latest TFT-LCD active matrix display technology, but employing standard video inputs, the SPECTRA-LITE Series is independent of typical graphics and computer connectors.

Featuring coaxial cable inputs, the TFT panel will accept video from any source and work with most scan converters and is compatible with NTSC, PAL and SECAM.

Turn Your Laptop Computer into A teleprompter

A laptop computer can instantly be turned into a versatile TFT LCD Flat-Panel prompter and no other display is required. It is easy to set up and very simple to use, just place the notebook into the adjustable cradle, and install Listec Video’s A-6000WIN prompter software program on your laptop and you are ready to go.

Lightweight, yet capable of supporting notebook computers weighing up to 8 lbs (3.6 Kg), the T-2000 can be used with any ENG/EFP camera, including camcorders.

T-2000 series prompters

The T-2000/WIN permits normal operation of your laptop yet provides the ability to project a reverse mirror image for direct eye-line viewing as a teleprompter. For enhanced editing, an external keyboard can always be added.

The T-2000 system offers an economical means to prompt utilizing state-of-the-art technology. The system comes complete with the following items:

A fold-down mirror and soft hood assembly, sliding cradle to accommodate the laptop computer. A sliding EFP balance plate comes complete with one 5 lb (2.2 kg) counterbalance weight an adjustable mounting bracket for vertical positioning of the prompter cradle.

You can make rapid fire changes and prompt instantly with the technologically advanced Instant Edit Version of the Listec A-6000WIN Prompter Program which is the definition of simplicity.

Open the A-6000WIN, compose a new file, or select one saved as Rich Text File (RTF) in your favorite Windows word processor-then toggle Prompt! to commence scrolling from any location in the script and have the ability to Instantly Edit the text at any time.

The prompter text can be smoothly scrolled in both the forward and reverse direction either by locking the mouse cursor onto the Graphics Slider in the A-6000WIN program or by using the plus or minus keys on the computer keyboard. The speed slider control in the prompter program can be displayed or hidden on the prompt output, the choice is yours.

An optional Desktop control box can be supplied to control the speed of the prompter text if preferred.

A very special feature is our Live Message Line which is a horizontal text crawl that is displayed at the bottom of the prompter screen. The use of this facility is endless for the presenter, such as displaying telephone numbers, our informing the presenter of a news flash etc.

Simply type your message to commence the horizontal crawl of the Live Message Line and hit the return key on the keyboard. The speed of the message can be regulated or set to a continuous loop.
