Less than one year back the Proland Company has submitted for domestic market the optical accessories of Canadian company Cavision. This already proved overseas trademark has some popularity beside users in Russia and C.I.S. countries due to high quality of the production and available prices. It is necessary to note that Cavision is recommended supplier of accessories for Canon, JVC, Panasonic camcorders.

The product assortment of Cavision includes two main groups: optical accessories and compendiums. So it is possible to add several types of such accessory as director’s viewfinders and Follow-Focus systems.

Lens devices

The Cavision accessories and converters are grouped in broadcasting, professional and DV series. This division is conditionally and basically defined by lens diameter, to which the accessories are approached. As a rule the more diameter of the lens, the higher series is.

The experience has shown that the most popular models become the devices of broadcasting series, such as BWC07×86 converter, BWA06×85 and BWA07×85 accessories for lens with diameter of front ring more than 85 mm. Particularly interesting is joint installation of two accessories — BWA07×115 and BWA06×85. Such double extension allows realizing the fish eye effect with broadcasting quality under multiplicity of 0.42 — BWA042×85. For cameras of the miniDV format the converters and accessories of DV-series such as DWC 06×52, DWC 06×58 become the most successful.

Any Cavision accessories are produced with use of high precision technology of the glass processing and are provided with laminated clarified covering. The different feature of these devices, doing them very suitable, is adaptability. The important Cavision design feature is the broad using of the superimposed fastening of the extension on lenses. This allows to avoid the letter-box picture and more exactly to adjust the relative position of an optical element. With providing of connecting rings any extension can be jointed with lens, having external diameter not more than declaring diameter of the extension. To each extension the user can select a blind and a cover.

Amongst lens devices from Cavision the separate line are director’ viewfinders, which allow to see the frame will get on film or CCD camcorders exactly. The viewfinders Cavision are ergonomic and easy adjustable to any picture format and any film size.

Compendiums

Other important direction of the Canadian specialist works become is compendium design (Matte Boxes). These devices vastly relieve the shooting with light filters, particularly when necessary to work with wide filter range amount or use the gradient or polarizing filters. The design of the compendium allows using two and more filter simultaneously. One of the filter holders is made revolving specially for work with polarizing filter. But if necessary to solve the complex creative tasks by using lens with external focusing, the compendium moves to the class of indispensable equipment.

The main particularities of Cavision compendium are as follows: multiformat (the possibility of the using practically with any types of the camcorders); low-weighted module design, based on carbon-plastic parts, allowing vastly reduce the weight of the compendium and relieve the work with him; the wide assortment of connecting rings and accessories, increasing the possibilities of the cameramen art.

Compendiums

For lens with internal focusing the low-weighted compendiums MB410H-6 and MB385 are produced, which can be installed directly on lens. In the cases, when this design is undesirable, the use of the MB413B compendium provided by pins is recommended.

The useful addenda to compendiums can become the Follow Focus system, which is fixed on pins too. Its use provide for operator to realize the lens parameter control at shooting in more smooth mode and to realize the fixation of necessary features more exactly, than this possible under usual rotation of zoom lens by hand. Similar systems are offered for Fujinon and Canon lens.
