Canon is one of the world leaders in production of lenses for television and the other spheres, where these optical units are used. Annually, the company presents the new products, exceeding earlier issued products in some features. 2003 did not become the exception which is characterized by several new optical systems from Canon.

As Canon confirms, the YH16×7 KTS-AF lens is the first lens in the world with remote control, provided by the automatic focusing system. The lens is characterized by 16-x magnification in the range of focal length change from 7 to 112 mm. For focusing the system of the constant automatic focusing is provided. It allows controlling by focus regardless from working mode of camera.

The new control board TCR-AF1 allows to switch on/switch off the functions of the automatic focusing, focusing under object tracking and to remote control by enlargement, diaphragm and sharpness aiming.

The area of this lens applying is enough broad although it does not pertain to professional or broadcasting class. This can be, for instance, Internet-broadcasting, shooting of the road motion, education, etc.

HJ17ex7.7 lens

The HJ17ex7.7B lens is created for HJ16×8B replacement and differs by perfected parameters and optical features, as well as by broader set of digital functions. The production of this lens is carried out in the conditions of ecological purity.

As can be seen from marking, multiplicity of the new model is increased on 1 step, width of the view angle is 7.7 mm, and the range of the focal length change is from 7.7 to 131 mm (from 15.5 to 262 mm when the double multiplexer is used).

Again new lens are provided by new functional possibilities. The optical features of HJ17ex7.7B are improved by broader range of macro shooting, by higher contrast and by the best resolution on frame edge in all range of the focal length change.

Either as all lenses of new series e-HDXS, the HJ17ex7.7B lens allows to change the focal length from minimum to maximum (or on the contrary) during 0.5 s. Information LCD and the digital function selector are improved. This provides the simplicity in application of the lens and higher universality due to the fact that operator can program the lens depending on concrete tasks. The function of the focus preliminary installing can be used in combination with frame preliminary installing (two values), speed and Zoom Tracking. The AUX1 and AUX2 switches allow increasing the assortment of functions definied by user. Besides, operator has a possibility beforehand to assign the exact focal length and the law of focus changing.

J22ex7.6 lens

One more new lens — J22ex7.6B — is created in series e-IFXS. This SD-lens has the biggest view angle for its class. It is also executed ecological safely and has a broad choice of digital functions.

The lens is characterized by 22-x magnification. The range of the focal length change is from 7.6 to 168 mm (from 15.2 to 336 mm when use the double multiplexer), but vision angle width is 7.6 mm. Practically this model is created in continuation to J21×7.8B lens and is equipped by X-Element and Power Optical systems. Change time of the focal length from one extreme value to another is 0.5 s at whole.

The lens is provided by an information LCD and a navigation system in digital functions menu so user can tune each “under itself” exactly and easy. The new functions of lenses of e-IFXS series are the following:

• Preliminary focus installing (for IASD version) in combination with Shuttle Shot mode (the guick zooming), pre-setting of zooming rate, two pre-settings of the frame, and with Zoom Track function;
• Aux1 and AUX2 switches for access to user defined functions. In accordance with his own task the operator can exactly adjust the focal length and focus changing law;
• Storage of exact movement mode adjustments (Precise Movement Mode);
• Storage of nine patterns of user’s settings, transferring of information from one lens to another lens;
• Self-diagnostic mode.

In termination of this article it is necessary to tell several words about typical information LCD and digital functions selector for lenses of e-HDXS and e-IFXS series. Their presence saves from need to carry a notebook to store the lenses settings or to write them in note pad (that in general is an archaic method). It is possibility to call and view any setting on LCD screen. Display functioning is much easier due to the “joystick” switch of digital functions. He allows not only to realize the navigation through menu, but also to program the lens in accordance with the current shooting tasks.
