New generation of the camera heads Sony DXC series

The camera heads Sony of the DXC series already has obtained recognition in sphere of professional TV-production for high quality of the picture, functionality and possibility of the using in the most varied shooting situation. The new generation to this series is a line DXC-D50/D50WS which will appear in the near future.

The heads are similar on its technical features, but the main difference is in switchability of the DXC-D50WS between frames 4:3/16:9.

The camcorders have three 2/3" CCD Power HAD EX, modern ACP and advanced DSP. Under frame 4:3 the efficient resolution is equal to 850 TVL.

For reception of the qualitative picture, particularly under complex conditions of the shooting, some special technical decisions were found, each of which, as a rule, has got the own name.

So, function “adaptive control of luminosity” is appeared, which realizes selecting of the transmission characteristics. The detailed estimation of picture and drawing of a curve besed on several key points is allowing getting the acceptable picture even under very contrast illumination.

Not secret that under traditional approach the dark frame areas are possessed as well as lowered by saturation, i. e. lose the colour. For shooting of this effect the technology is used, which named “Low key saturation” meaning an increase of color saturation on areas with low luminosity.

One more special function for improvement quality pictures is “Cross color suppression”, which is in “fight” with mutual influence of brilliance and color constituents in composite signal. The special digital filter allows vastly reducing the undesirable effect and practically disposing of eroding of bright elements of the picture.

To avoid the effect of the twinkling at shooting of the TV or computer screen picture the function ClearScan is provided. Besides, the camcorders have a large number of automated functions that simplifies execution of usual operation under different scenarios.

In plan of the system integration the possibilities of the new representatives of DXC series are vastly increased. The camcorders can work as with triaxial (CCU-TX7), so and with multi-wired (CCU-DX50) camera channels. Also two new panels of control RCP-D50/D51 are represented, which have a possibility to connect with camera channel or to camcorder directly. Presence of the connector under card Memory Stick allows to save the parameters of the adjusting the camcorder and at the most short time to restore earlier installed values or move the settings to other camcorders.

In the event of use DXC-D50P for reporting complexes two types of jointing video recorders are provided: DSR-1 (DVCAM) and PVW-3 (Betacam SP).

New camcorders accompanies by full range of necessary accessories, including camera adapters, VTR, remote controls etc.
