Leitch’s equipment for air branding

In the range of equipment produced by Leitch there are all devices necessary for TV production: routing and distribution equipment, signal converters and equally important devices for air branding — logo generators, air clock etc.

Correct reference time detection is very important component of TV studio successful activity. Master Time system developed by Leitch engineers provides time detection with highest precision. This Leitch’s equipment gained high appreciation of specialists.

CSD-3901 generator (Master Clock Driver) represents new generation of devices for reference of synchronization pulses definition. It has all necessary technical and workflow features including integrated Ethernet support for use NTP (Network Time Protocol) within local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).

For time representation very diverse variants are assumed. It may be done in analog of digital form and in 12- or 24-hour time display mode. There are no problems related to synchronization of time indicators used in studio as well as to connections to network.

5300CI module (Computer Interface) provides ability for PCs to work with SMPTE or EBU time codes. It simplifies the task of correct setup of PC’s internal clock during program’s operation in automated mode.

Leitch’s logos and captions generators are used by TV companies in different countries for a long time. In 1994 Leitch had started delivery of equipment which allows create and insert animated logos and captions. Most often logo generators are used for channel’s logo output both at the beginning and at the end of TV program or after time break for commercials. Sometimes logos are outputted for marking of source of copywriter of clip used in news, talk-shows, interview or any other program. By the way, in logos used in talk-shows one can use not only name and current program’s theme information but also rating values and other additional data. And finally logos can be used for display of current time or weather forecast without interrupting a program.

LogoMotion Series equipment has widest production functionality. Digital and analog systems oddered can contain up to 99 logos of animated clips with duration up to 21.5 seconds and with different size — if 1/9 of screen up to full screen picture. Additional modules provide capturing of video in real time, and reliable monitoring, and time and temperature information insertion as well as LogoNet networked control tools.

MGI Series equipment gained good acceptance of number of largest broadcast network for its features providing networked control of copywriter’s logo insertion. LogoNet decoder which is additional plug-in module receives control signals encoded within VBI and simplifies logos reference all over the country.
