Wireless Systems of Video Transfer from Premiere Wireless

Review contents:

Premiere Wireless Company, established in 1994 offers wide range of systems of video and sound signal transfer of high quality.

Systems of radio connection are optimal to provide connection of remote camera with control monitor or directly with video mixer or video recording facilities.

Large choice of antennas and accessories for application in different situations provide flexibility of use of these systems.

Premiere Wireless products can be divided in following categories:

  • systems of small power (don’t require licensing);
  • systems of big power (require licensing);
  • mixed systems.

Short characteristic of Premiere Wireless systems of small power:

  • transfer of video and sound signals;
  • use of up to four channels, chosen by the user;
  • don’t require licensing;
  • wide range of antennas for different fields of application.

As to fields of application of wireless systems of Premiere Wireless, then this is TV journalism, covering of sports events, organization of video conferences connection, use in the set of systems like Steadicam, etc.

Till recently for transfer of video signal were used 902…926 MHz frequencies, on the same frequency mobile phones, emergency services, etc work. That is why when receiving the signal quality losses in sound and video image qualities are possible (’ghosts“, change of sizes, change of color palette of objects). And in systems working in frequency diapason 2400…2483 MHz the only source of noises are SHF waves.

The widest application got systems of small power Premiere Wireless BE-330. Systems of small power operate on small distances, in conditions of direct visibility, what is due to the small power of transmitter and different external factors.

At this system the maximum distance of receiving/ transfer of video signal is 300 m (in based integration), but that is not the limit, as by setting any powerful antenna it is possible to increase the distance of receiving/transfer of signal.

Distance of signal transfer is usually characterized by transmitter’s power. In this facility increase of power is impossible, so the distance of receiving/transfer of signal is achieved by increase of sensitivity of receiver and its antenna. Above named parameters of facilities differ a lot what is due to “far distancing” of about 100…2000 m (when using directed reflector on the receiver).

The system mounted to the camera

Premiere Wireless BE-330 system consists of two part: transmitting and receiving. Transmitting block fastens directly to the video camera. Premiere Wireless BE-330 operates in frequency modulation diapason with frequency of 2400…2483 MHz and up to four channels. The set corresponds to international standard of wireless computer communications IEEE 802.11 (passed in July 1997) and uses wide-band signal of small amplitude with most perfect type of resolution. Amount of accessible channels highly depends on frequency band and width of frequency band of video signal. Some producers advertise their production with ten and more number of channels even with 900 MHz frequency. These channels have narrow band of video signal frequencies (less than 2.5 MHz) or are situated so close to each other that it is impossible to situate two systems nearly on neighboring channels without loss of video image.

Transmitters

On-camera microwave BE-300 Wireless Video system is assigned for use with television cameras of TV journalist’s set. The system transfers video signal and signals of sound accompaniment. Transmitter can be easily set on any professional camera and works from accumulator of 12 V voltage. The system distinguishes in economy, flexibility and comfort of use.
