Mobile television stations by I.S.P.A.-Engineering I.S.P.A.-Engineering company has proved itself on the market of professional TV and audio equipment as system integrator. With its real devotees specializing on manufacture and mounting of TV and sound studios, film/concert suites from individual project to complex all-to-do design, the company could not set aside mobile TV stations of various class and began their manufacture. Design of any mobile television station is one of the most difficult and complex tasks: i. e. it is necessary not only to select a set of studio equipment and arrange it in limited area, but also to make the system reliable enough, mobile and all-weather taking consideration all traffic and climatic conditions. The company builds each station as unique exemplar after thorough project development basing on requirements specification and customer’s requests, considering its ergonomics and design, and using newest engineering and technological decisions. Equipment arrangement, cooling, ventilation and heating (for operating at any climatic conditions) of all station meet all personnel comfort requirements. Manufacture capabilities (in cooperation with large enterprises) allow operating with several vehicles of various configurations at the same time. The task gets especially difficult when designing and manufacturing of MTS start not from scratch conforming to already existing equipment. Here one must be creative and apply non-standard approaches. Anyway, the customer would require positive decision. And sometimes such variants open interesting perspectives. Now the company is manufacturing Drive away mobile station.
The station is based on all-wheel Volkswagen Transporter vehicle featured by syncro transmission (4×4 wheel formula), advanced carrying capacity, high-performance suspension, and enlarged base. Up-to-date to its purpose — broadcasting on-line news — MTS is equipped with satellite station with Swedish Edd 150 kM Drive away antenna with smooth aerodynamic body, which is placed on the roof of the vehicle. The MTS is featured by employing second air-conditioner placed on the roof, which goes additionally to default one already installed on the vehicle. The second conditioner is designed for cooling of equipment stand and operator section. Thus, comfortable conditions for personnel and equipment operating are provided both during run-in position and at stops during in-air mode. Another peculiarity lies in employment of special roll strengthening bar, which makes the station look sporting. The reason the bar was employed is that weight mass of satellite antenna and additional conditioner exceeded the limit roof load set by the manufacture of the vehicle (Volkswagen) for the present model. One more peculiarity of MTS lies in employment of equipment stands with special vibro-absorbing shock absorbers reducing vibration and dynamic loads of electronic equipment at stops, during autonomic generator work, and at run-in position of the vehicle. In other respects MTS is standard in its design. Equipment is arranged in body by cross scheme; operating area of minibus’s cargo section is divided into two parts: operator section and section for additional equipment. For maximum heat and noise isolation the sections are divided by partition wall employing removable panels for access to equipment back sides. Heating is available both during run-in position and at roll-in and shooting modes. There were provided heat and sound isolation of walls, doors, floor, and ceiling, and also sound isolation between additional section and cabin. MTS’s equipment allows shooting right from event area by two cameras. If necessary, third camera may be adjusted to additional input module. Commutation matrix provides possibility of simultaneous signal transmitting onto satellite and recording onto video tape recorder. Two video tape recorders are connected as edit pair, which allows quick editing of shot material and broadcast ready program right away. Satellite receiver provides on-air image review, which solves the problem of director orientation in air network. Equipment is synchronized by reference generator, which allows commutation of signal sources on-the-air with no frame disruption as well as high-quality titling. Video signals from all devices go through hand commutation panel, which allows flexible reconfiguration of MTS in case of non-standard technical task or if any component unit fails. Two blocks of Intercom system and special vehicle set of mobile satellite communications are used for communication between mobile TV station and studio control block. The vehicle is equipped with service lighting system; subsidiary section contains main and stand-by autonomous generators (the main one is placed in original soundproof casing, the stand-by is remote), racks for cable reels, power and alarm panels, hatches. Power supply is provided by autonomous generators or single-phase current network of 220 V with the usage of UPS and matching transformer (for electrosecurity purposes). I.S.P.A.-Engineering |
