New Professional Sony Monitors with Improved Image Quality

The new Sony monitors of PVM-L2 series have wide functional opportunities for the broadcast and professional application in the filming process and during the programs production. They are created on the base of PVM-M2 series that had a big success. New monitors have the screen size of 9", 14" and 20" and are accomplished with Trinitron kinescopes, which provide the high clearness, brightness and contrast of images, have the small ratio of external light reflection and are produced in two formats: 4:3 and 16:9.

14" and 20" models provide the horizontal clearness of 600 tvl, and the portable 9" model provides 250 tvl, what is more than enough for the control of images in the field conditions.

"The equipment, used in the modern TV production should provide the maximum quality with high economic efficiency, said Daniel Darbul, monitor manager of the Sony Business Europe Company. The PVM-L2 series is inexpensive SDI monitors with enlarged opportunities of digital entries choice. Such combination of high quality and functional flexibility allows applying them in the set of any out of studio and studio systems, where the viewing of the material received from different sources is needed."

different additional decoder boards provide the exploitation flexibility when operating with different sources with good price/quality ratio. The options of the digital boards allow producing decoding of video and sound signals SDI, SDTI-CP, and at the nearest future also of i.LINK. In all three models of standard complexion there are the analogous composite, component, and Y/C entries.

14" and 20" models are assigned for the application in the systems of linear and nonlinear editing, and 9" PVM-9L2 version represents the portable monitor, which can be used in the mobile television stations and editing shelvings. The power supply of 9" monitor can be done directly from the lithium-ion accumulator. This model is ideal for the application where the compact equipment is required, for example, for the viewing of filmed material on the filming place.

6,5" LCD Sony monitor LMD-650 has the high brightness and contrast of image. The matrix resolution is VGA (640 per 480 pixels). The monitor ca n operate with composite and Y/C video signals of PAL standard of 4:3 and 16:9 formats. For the power supply the accumulator battery is used.

The Sony Company produces three new models of plasma display: PFM-32C1E (32"), PFM-42B2E (42"), and PFM-50C1E (50"). They are assigned for the application in the sphere of business. In 2001 PFM-42B1E became the sales leader among plasma displays. Displays are assigned for the information point, sales points, and business presentations.

The Sony Company offers the network board settled in 42" and 50" displays' models. This board provides the wireless signals transfer between the professional computer with wireless network board Wireless LAN and plasma display with settled network board or the direct viewing of the PC content on the plasma display.

The display PFM-42B2E, which has some insignificant changes, came to change PFM-42B1E. Except for the 42" display the models with other screen sizes appeared: PFM-32C1E (32") and PFM-50C1E (50"). Both models are constructively done in the same stile PFM-42B1E.

  • non-receptivity to the magnetic fields, excluding violations of the color similarity;
  • flexible setting opportunities: the use of 'portrait' and 'landscape' variants is possible;
  • two-year standard package of guarantee services Prime Support (the widen tree-year guarantee Prime Support is offered as an option).

PFM-32C1E is relatively inexpensive 32" plasma display of high clearness, which can be applied for advertising in the shops.

PFM-42B2E is the alternative decision for application where the big screen size screen are needed.

Display PFM-50C1E is rather expensive: it can be offered as the rented equipment or be set in the information centers, equipped with the electron system of high class. 50" screen can be also used for business-presentation (for example, in the conference rooms of companies).

Sony displays of PFM series have the resolution of 852 per1024 (32"), 1024 per 1024 (42") and 1365 per 768 (50"). These panel of high clearness provide the best legibility and clearness of images.

PFM series displays allows operating with different signals: from the standard composite video signal to the high-definition television signals and computer RGB signals. The build-in high quality transformer of the scanning standards provides the receiving of the image of optimal quality, independent from the entering signal format.
